2023 Hyundai Tucson price and specs: Elite, Highlander up by $500 with new tech

The 2023 Hyundai Tucson has received a minor equipment upgrade and $500 price increase for its two flagship variants, due in showrooms in March.

For 2023, Hyundai Australia has equipped the Tucson Elite and Highlander with the company’s ‘Bluelink’ connected services – incorporating features such as automatic collision notification, SOS emergency call function, voice control, connected navigation, a valet mode, and remote functions via a smartphone app.

Hyundai Bluelink is complementary for the first five years of the car’s life and can be transferred to new owners of the vehicle.

The inclusion of the connected services has resulted in a price increase of $500 for both the Tucson Elite and Highlander grades, now priced from $39,900 and $46,900 plus on-road costs, respectively.

The entry-level Hyundai Tucson – priced from $34,900 plus on-road costs – remains unchanged, after a $400 price rise since launch in April 2021.

Hyundai’s cheapest Tucson variant is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, developing 115kW and 192Nm with drive sent to the front wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission.

Hyundai’s Tucson Elite and Highlander grades are available with a wider choice of engines – the 2.0-litre petrol is joined by a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol (producing 132kW/265Nm) and a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel (developing 137kW/416Nm).

Both turbocharged engines deliver their power to all four wheels through automatic transmissions, with the turbo-petrol mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox while the diesel is paired with an eight-speed torque-converter.

The Hyundai Tucson is sold with a five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty and 12 months of roadside assistance as standard. The roadside assistance period is extended by a year each time the vehicle is serviced at a Hyundai dealership according to its annual maintenance schedule.

The 2023 Hyundai Tucson is due to arrive in Australia by the end of March. Wait times of six and nine months for the SUV have previously been reported.
