Audi RS e-tron GT EV sets Bathurst lap record

Audi has taken its superior-performance RS e-tron GT for some incredibly hot laps in a specific demonstration run at this year’s Bathurst 12 Hour endurance race, and now promises it has established the quickest lap for an electric powered output car.

German Audi Sport driver and current formal lap record holder Christopher Mies was at the wheel of the unmodified Audi RS e-tron GT, and clocked a lap time of 2:28.15.

While Audi claims it has set the fastest lap close to Mount Panorama for an electrical generation auto, it won’t depend formally as it wasn’t carried out for the duration of a racing session.

A comparable issue occurred when Jenson Button lapped Mount Panorama in a McLaren-Mercedes MP4-23 in 1:48.8.

As famous earlier mentioned, the existing official lap file belongs to Mr Mies, who set a 1:59.210 in the 2018 Problem Bathurst dash powering the wheel of an Audi R8 LMS Ultra.
