All Tesla Cybertrucks will have a full length of 231.7 inches, an overall width of 79.8 inches, and measure 75 inches in height. Every Cybertruck’s wheelbase will measure 149.9 inches, a few inches more than the F-150 Lightning (149.5-inches), a rival pickup truck. Every portion of the exoskeleton is modeled on the need for superior strength, using external features like the Tesla armor glass and Ultra-Hard 30X Cold-Rolled stainless-steel skin. As the Tesla Cybertruck prepares for a 2023 launch, barring any postponements, concerns have emerged regarding the truck category that Tesla’s forthcoming EV will belong to. Generally, a pickup truck is classified using the maximum loaded weight. In the U.S., the truck’s gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) is used as a parameter of classification. There are eight classes of trucks ranging from light-duty to medium-duty to heavy-duty.

Since the truck hasn’t been released, several crucial details like its exact weight haven’t been clarified yet. At first, it was believed that the Ford F-150 Lightning would be the Cybertruck’s direct competitor, which means that the Cybertruck would be in Class 2A, a light-duty pickup. However, according to a report by Automotive News, Tesla filed a document with the California Air Resources Board which says the Cybertruck is likely to be a Class 2B-3 medium-duty vehicle. This means that when the Cybertruck is released, medium-duty models like the Chevy Silverado 2500 and the F-150’s larger sibling, the F-250, will rival the unconventional Tesla electric truck.
