Genesis is pushing back the start of the Electrified G80 sedan just after a prepared spring showroom debut. The automaker did not disclose the cause but said a lot more facts about pricing and the on-sale date will not be out there until finally late summertime or early slide.
As not long ago as Wednesday, June 22, Genesis’ website explained the electric powered sedan was “coming spring 2022.” It is remaining assembled at a plant in Ulsan, South Korea, alongside the normal G80 sedan and GV80 crossover.
The global microchip scarcity and other offer chain bottlenecks have disrupted many product launches and car or truck availability around the environment. They have had an effects extra not long ago in Asia, notably China, wherever stringent COVID controls have upended output for automakers and suppliers.
The Electrified G80 will arrive with all-wheel generate only and two 136-kilowatt electric motors — a single at the front and one at the rear — that are driven by an 87.2-kilowatt-hour battery. Put together output will be 365 hp and 516 pound-feet of torque.
It will have an ultrafast 800-volt architecture that will be in a position to demand 10 to 80 per cent of the battery potential on a 350-kW DC rapid charger in 22 minutes. On a 240-kW Stage 2 charger, it will cost from 10 to 100 p.c in just more than 7 several hours. The charging port is positioned in the entrance grille.
